Robin, The Boy Wonder, Shocked and in the Corner Again (and Again).

This is for anyone who was disappointed at the lack of Batman and Robin content in the giant penguin story.

A couple of weeks ago, Boing Boing provided a link to this Collector’s Society thread:

Here’s a quote from the original poster:

“This thread is dedicated to all those covers that show Robin, the Boy Wonder in a shock pose. Usually in one of the lower corners of the cover. Believe me there are a bunch.

The ROBIN corner shock pose

Have a look. It’s worth a good laugh.

And check out those tights! Talk about objectification. Good heavens.

  1. Haha, I love this!! Lazy artists just copying and pasting the utterly reprehensible boy wonder. Even his creators want nothing to do with him! I recently had the misfortune to watch Batman & Robin again. Now, normally I can watch any old shite for at least 30 minutes before I give up, but with Batman & Robin I made it to 2 lines of dialogue past the opening credits. Barely 10 seconds! And I know that the cause behind this shortening of the fuse is all Robin, or rather the interaction between Batman and Robin. Batman is a dark character, a twisted, tortured being driven by a deep-seated need for revenge. Pairing him with a chipper sidekick is never going to work. For the movie, I must say that casting Chris O’Donnell, the human equivalent of watching beige paint dry, was really hobbling them before they got started.
Anyway, I realise that this turned into a bit of a rant about film adaptations, well one in particular, but Robin as shocked bystander…..well, what else could he do?
