If you want to do something that most people could never dream of, try this:
Be a hero to your own children.
Most of you have probably already seen this video, but I think it has a place in this blog, because–despite the cheesy Christian-rock song selection–it strikes a chord with my most elusive pursuit: to understand what lies at the heart of the human condition; to try to pin down what–if anything– connects one human to another at the most basic level. There are a few works of art out there that have the power to move all but the most fortified (indoctrinated?) souls, and this is a prime example. What qualities exactly do these works share? Does that get us any closer to the core of the human condition?
